    Lady Lovely Locks

My hair is falling out. It is coming out in fistfuls. The bathtub drain is clogged solid by the end of each shower.
I know this is common after pregnancy. They say hormones during pregnancy make you shed less hair and you tend to have fuller, more lustrous locks. Well, I didn’t notice any extraordinary fullness during pregnancy, but I am sure noticing the shedding.
I could save it and weave a rug. I even noticed wet strands of it plastered against the window of the washing machine  today during the spin cycle. Gross.
Is that a hair in your soup? It’s probably mine. Don’t worry – it’s clean.

We did a short version of our annual family vacation to the beach house in Maine this year. We stayed two days instead of a week. Every year we go the week after the season closes because we love the solitude. The weather is still nice, but the throngs of people have thinned to a bearable number. Here are a few snap shots of our weekend away:

    Laughed till I cried

She laughed. A real, joyful, honest to goodness laugh. AND I MISSED IT!!! I am with this child 95% of the time – so of course she chooses the twenty minutes I run to the store to laugh. That’s right. I come home from getting groceries and The Boy says nonchalantly, “Oh, she laughed.”
“What? A real laugh?!” I ask.
“Yeah. But I thought you said she was doing that now…”
“I said she was CLOSE. Tell me everything! What made her laugh?”
Apparently changing her onesie is a riot. I tell The Boy to do it again, so he lay her on the changing table and just as he pulls her arm through the onesie she bursts into giggles!
It is the most beautiful sound I have ever heard. And infectious. Here we are the three of us huddled together at the changing table laughing hysterically, tears running down my cheeks.
